Term 3 - Fairytales
This term is a whole school topic based around books! We are therefore learning all about fairytales and story structures. We have also taken a trip to Nunney Castle to really put our learning into context. The children learned how to follow a simple map whilst we were there and then made their own maps back at school. The children have used our iPads to photograph and animate their super models of Trolls, check some out below!
We have been making magic wands and creating magic spells, learning how to weave and finding out all about the history of castles!
We are continuing on our Phonics Journey and will be learning the Phase 3 set of sounds. See the link below on how to pronounce the new sounds correctly.
We are starting our weekly Reading Café this term. Please do sign up and come and share some specially selected stories and activities alongside your child. Refreshments will be served. Check out some of the photos from this year's Reading Café below.
Of course we will be getting to know some familiar fairy tales very well. The children will soon be able to tell you the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff!

Term Three means that we will be soon opening our Reception Reading Café!
All welcome! Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, even babies- Come along and share a fabulous story and then some art and craft activities alongside your child in Little Oaks Classroom, from 3.15-4.15.
We will also be sharing some squash and biscuits!

We are learning about Special Stories in RE this term. We found lots of Bibles at Nunney Church.

We did a scavenger hunt to find Christian symbols. Here we have found the candle with a cross on it.
