Our Remote Curriculum
Our remote teaching and learning package will commence as soon as possible should the school be closed.
Curriculum
We offer a similar curriculum remotely as we do in school wherever possible and appropriate. However, at times some adaptations are required.
Remote Teaching and Study Time
We offer 3-4 hours of work for pupils in every year group.
Accessing Remote Education
We use Class Dojo, Purple Mash, Language Angels, Oak Academy and other online resources for delivery and assessment. Zoom may be used, on a 1:1 basis at times, when possible, for delivery and assessment.
How we support children do not have digital or online access
School will support, where possible, with laptops to pupils who do not have access to the internet. Additionally, when requested, pupils are able to receive printed materials/resources.
How will my child be taught remotely?
Work will be set and monitored by the class teacher utilising a range of different providers as outlined above. This will be monitored, assessed and feedback provided through Class Dojo or Zoom to address any misconceptions or to extend pupils' learning. Opportunities will be provided for pupils' to apply new knowledge and skills.
Engagement and Feedback
There is an expectation that all children engage in all lessons provided. A record of work handed in kept by class teachers and reviewed regularly. Support will be offered for those pupils who disengage with learning.
Feedback is provided through regular communication with pupils, parents/carers regarding work submitted.
How will you check whether my child is engaging with their work and how will I be informed if there are concerns?
We will check a child's engagement regularly and inform parents of any concerns.
How will we assess children's work and progress?
Through work submitted and conversations with pupils progress will be formatively assessed. Further teaching and learning will address any misconceptions and gaps in knowledge.
How will you work with me to help my child who needs additional support from adults at home to access remote education?
We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families and will with parents and carers to support those pupils in a personalised way with regular contact from a named member of staff.
